Note: Where we refer to 'parents,' we mean parents and carers inclusively. The term 'children' or 'child' describes any person under the age of 18.

As a parent of a child participating in our club or activity, we request you to:

The Essentials:

  1. Ensure your child has the right kit for the session, along with enough food and drink.
  2. Strive to have your child arrive at sessions on time and be picked up promptly. If running late or if your child is going home with someone else, please inform us.
  3. Complete all consent, contact, and medical forms, updating us immediately if anything changes.
  4. Ensure your child wears any protective kit provided for them.
  5. Maintain a positive relationship with your child's coach or trainer, catching up with them regularly about your child's development.
  6. Do talk to us if you have any concerns about any part of your child's involvement - we want to hear from you.

Behaviour:

  1. Learn about your child's sport and understand what it means to them.
  2. Engage in conversations with your child about what both of you want to achieve through sport.
  3. Recognise that children derive various benefits from participating in sport beyond wins and losses, such as making friends, getting exercise, and developing skills.
  4. Listen when your child expresses reluctance to do something.
  5. Display positive behaviour on the sidelines - shout encouragement, say "Well done," and let your children know you're proud of their efforts.
  6. Consider how your reactions and behaviour impact not just your child but other children as well.
  7. Lead by example when it comes to positive behaviour on the sidelines; let other parents take cues from you, as well as from us.
  8. Accept the official's judgement and refrain from entering the field of play.
  9. Use social media responsibly when discussing club matters, behaving online as you would in person.
  10. Encourage good etiquette and sportsmanship in your child, emphasising the importance of playing by the rules.
